Richnex launches its new four channel video decoder solution

Richnex Microelectronics Corporation launches its first four channel video decoder solution, RN6240, for security applications. Targeting at applications such as multi-channel Digital Video Recorders (DVR), Digital Video Server (DVS) and IP Cameras, Richnex combines its state-of-the art high performance, low noise analog circuit design technologies with advanced digital signal processing on its video decoder products specifically complying with the latest requirements of security systems. The RN6240 integrates four 10 bit, 54MHz analog-digital conversion (ADC) with 4 x oversampling and its automatic gain control (AGC) accepts input signals ranging from 250mV to 2V allowing a longer signal cable deployment without any additional signal boosters. Variants of analog video signals can be detected automatically and an advanced filter design reduces the artifacts during Y/C separation. To fully utilize today's high performance MPEG-4 or H.264 compression engines, the digital video processing functions are all implemented in true 10 bit resolutions and can be adjusted via an easy-to-use serial interface. In addition to the ITU-R BT.656 compatible 8/10 bit video outputs, proprietary output formats can also be generated allowing glueless interface compatibilities with the compression engines. RN6240's integrated Phase Lock Loop (PLL) eliminates the need of system clock generator, further reducing the system complexity and cost at the same time. With its advanced features, the RN6240 is the best solution for multi-channel security applications such as 4 channel, 8 channel or 16 channel DVRs.

The RN6240 is packaged in a LQFP 128 package (14 mm x 14mm) and its samples are available now. For further information, please contact Richnex.
